••• CBS CEO Les Moonves told the Deutsche Bank Media, Internet & Telecom Conference that he expects Supergirl to be renewed for a second season. [via Deadline ]

••• According to The Hollywood Reporter Fletcher Moules will be directing Sony’s animated Ghostbusters movie. He’s guy responsible for the animated Clash of Clans commercials.

••• Screen Daily is reporting that Amanda Seyfried (Ted 2, While We’re Young) has been cast opposite Clive Owen (Children of Men) in the dystopian sci-fi thriller Anon from writer/director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, The Host). Seyfried previously worked with Niccol on In Time.

••• Jake Johnson (Jurassic World, New Girl) has been added to Universal’s reboot of The Mummy, which will star Tom Cruise. Apparently the story is set in the modern day, with Cruise playing a special forces soldier (or former soldier). In a role written specifically for him, Johnson will play a member of the military. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

••• Fringe’s Anna Torv’s is set to star in David Fincher’s upcoming Netflix crime drama Mind Hunter. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Torv will play a psychologist called Wendy opposite Jonathan Groff (Looking) who’s playing a special agent called Holden. Based on the 1996 nonfiction novel Mind Hunter: Inside The FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshanker, the TV adaptation, set in 1979, follows twoFBI agents who interview serial killers in an attempt to solve current cases.
