DarkSouls1_Cover D by Marco TuriniTitan Comics is to publish the Official Dark Souls comic – set in the world of the best-selling videogame series.

The critically acclaimed action role-playing video game was originally released in Japan in 2011 and has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide since. Dark Souls II: Scholar Of The Sin followed in April 2015 and the highly anticipated third game in the series is released worldwide April 2016.

“I’m ‘dead’ excited to be working on this new series (see what I did, there),” says the series’ writer George Mann (Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor, Newbury And Hobbes Investigations). “Dark Souls has a rich, original universe that’s just begging to be explored in comics, and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to delve in and tell some new stories within it. I’ve been a fan of the games for some time, so it’s a real thrill to be able to contribute to the mythology of the Hollows and their world.”

Art in the series will be courtesy of by Alan Quah (Orphan Black, Godzilla: Awakening).

Dark Souls #1 hits comic stores on 6 April 2016 and comes with five variant covers to collect including a game cover, concept cover, two art covers by Joshua Cassara and Marco Turini and a blank sketch variant.
