With The Force Awakens set to open in China – the second biggest movie market in the world – Disney’s official “Star Wars Ambassador” in the country, 25-year-old pop sensation Lu Han has released a music video for a track called “Inner Force” the film’s official Chinese theme song.
Disney is clearly hoping that Lu Han’s massive online fanbase (nearly 12 million followers on Weibo and he holds the Guinness World Record for most comments on a single post) will help the film break box office records in China the way it has been around the rest of the globe. Historically, though, China hasn’t been quite so gaga about the saga as Europe and North America so The Force Awakens may not be able to rely on the country to propel it past Avatar’s global record.
