Issue 45 of MyM, the official magazine of MCM Expo Group, is out now! Featuring epic storytelling in Beowulf: Return To The Shieldlands, chats with Shigeto Koyama, Hirokazu Koreeda and Kpop sensation Boys Republic, as well as a look back at 2015’s highlights and a massive preview of all the great entertainment heading our way in 2016!

EDITOR’S LETTER
This month we fulfilled a childhood dream. Finding ourselves on the lot at Pinewood, we were presented with the opportunity to sit in an iconic spaceship. No, we’re not talking about that one. We wedged ourselves into the pilot seat of Red Dwarf’s Starbug, played with the buttons and pulled that control lever back and forth as if we were happily diving through space. If they hadn’t organised a chat with the cast, who were on top form, they’d have had to physically prize us out of there.

While you’ll have to wait till 2016 to hear about those exploits (and how those Starbug seats used to be a whole lot more dangerous!), this month we’re finally able to share our visit to ITV’s Beowulf (see page 20). Our intrepid reporter Sharon Gosling braved the same icy winds and inhospitable conditions the actors and crew had faced for months, to bring you an in-depth report. Production designer Grant Montgomery also shares some exclusive details, and having already seen the first episode, we promise you won’t want to miss this show.

There’s also plenty of other entertainment on the horizon you won’t want to miss. The MyM team has delved deep into its crystal ball to share what’s going to be scorching in 2016 (see page 24 onwards), while also making sure you saw all the good stuff this year with out 2015 review.

And if you’re reading this as the family slumps in front of the TV desperately searching for something – anything! – to watch that isn’t another Christmas special, might we suggest you check out page 66 for a rundown of the best anti-yuletide movies available? Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from all the team.
