Issue 38 of MyM, the official magazine of MCM Expo Group, is out now! Featuring an exclusive chat with anime genius Hideaki Anno and a host of musical treats (including everything from Burning Man to K-pop), it’s not to be missed!

EDITOR’S LETTER

Welcome to our birthday party! And thanks for coming in costume – as you know, we love to see your awesome cosplays. Three years ago in May someone had the brilliant idea of combining anime, manga, movies, videogames and more to create what was sorely missing from the marketplace.

“The time has come for you to have a brand spanking new magazine! Our mutual desire for such a thing is no coincidence. MyM, which you hold in your hands, is a magazine created by those who have felt the same way for some time. But we can keep it to ourselves no longer!” we stated proudly, with the same passion that still brims over in our pages all these years later.

Tales Of Graces F adorned our front cover, while Lollipop Chainsaw sexed up our reverse cover. The staff included myself (“reporter”), David Axbey (“senior freelance journalist”) and Martin Wharmby (“games editor”) – so one of us is still in need of a long-overdue promotion! James Clarkson illustrated the first ever Mya Tenshi, beginning a tradition that sees MCM Buzz’s Claire Courtney help us celebrate this milestone.

Naturally, it wouldn’t be a party without music, so we’ve got plenty for you to enjoy. Featuring everything from news about a J-rock night not to be missed to personal recollections of the Burning Man festival, via K-pop, visual kei, videogame soundtracks, the Band From TV and the a cappella sounds of Pitch Perfect’s Bellas, we promise there’s a tune here you’ll enjoy.

Here’s to still singing out loud and proud in another three years’ time!
Matt Chapman, Editor
