Cary Elwes is the latest special guest to be announced for this month’s MCM Birmingham Comic Con and Memorabilia show…

Best known for playing the lead in the 1987 cult classic The Princess Bride, where he swashbuckled his way to stardom as Westley/Dread Pirate Roberts, London-born Elwes has a host of big screen credits to his name.

Which is your favourite Elwes movie role? There’s plenty to choose from, including Saw, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Kiss The Girls to Ella Enchanted, Liar Liar and Robin Hood: Men In Tights, not to mention Hot Shots!, Glory and Days Of Thunder. He has also enjoyed an extensive television career, including recurring roles in The X-Files and Psych.

Animation fans will also recognise Elwes as a Studio Ghibli regular, voicing The Baron in Whisper Of The Heart and The Cat Returns, as well as brash American flyer Curtis in much-loved Miyazaki movie Porco Rosso. He’s no stranger to Western cartoons either, appearing in hit series such as Batman Beyond, Family Guy and Pinky And The Brain.

MCM Comic Con runs from 22-23 November at The NEC and tickets and further details are available on the official website.
