She’s a modern day Tank Girl but Isla Fisher isn’t drowning in dresses…

“We dropped Isla Fisher into a tank of water with really heavy chains around her,” Now You See Me director Louis Leterrier told Total Film recently. “She was under water for two-and-a-half minutes during one take.”

Nice try Louis but there’s no keeping this girl down. She’s got Leterrier’s magical crime thriller and Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby upcoming, The Bachelorette finally heading into UK cinemas later this year and out on DVD in the US, plus The Untitled Elmore Leonard Project currently shooting. As if she needed more work, she’s even busy shopping her own script – written with her mum – around Hollywood.

And after all that water play, Fisher was happy to dive into something more studious for Luhrmann, calling Gatsby “the most thorough movie I’ve been on”. A three-week rehearsal period in New York saw her get “really immersed in the ’20s and study flapper girls. We had all the music for that period playing – it was like a Jazz Age boot camp!” Nice.

Such a hard working and successful girl surely gets the perks, then, with her pick of designer dresses before an awards show?

“My stylist styles Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway and whoever else. They get all the dresses first and whatever they refuse, the couple left to choose that no one wants, I get that rack,” Fisher reveals. Sounds like a fashion faux pas to thatfilmthing.
