With the release of Fede Alvarez’s remake of Sam Raimi’s cult 80’s horror Evil Dead, questions were bound to arise about possible sequels. Raimi has already revealed that he’s working on a follow-up to Army of Darkness, and Alvarez has also confirmed he will be making a sequel to his Evil Dead remake.

However, at this year’s WonderCon festival, it was revealed that there would be a final crossover film, which the two previously mentioned films would lead into, colliding the two timelines. Actor Bruce Campbell helpfully mentioned that “seven is a nice number”, confirming that there may be three more Evil Dead films yet to come.

In the meantime, Evil Dead is out now in the UK. Although, If you’re looking for a similar tone to the original cult classic you’ll be disappointed, Alvarez’s remake takes the more serious and sinister tone of modern horror, which is largely influenced by Japanese horror films.
