Final frames of Hunter X Hunter: Phantom Rouge act as a teaser for sequel…
Running for the exit to beat the crowds when a film has finished is not always the best policy, as those watching the latest Hunter X Hunter movie found out. The patience of audience members who waited for the end credits to roll on Hunter X Hunter: Phantom Rouge was rewarded thanks to a sneak preview of the set up for a second film.
The teaser material featured Netero, the chairman of the Hunters’ Association, standing in front of the backdrop of a dimly lit street and the Heavens Arena fighting tower. No other details about the second film were announced, but the production has already thought to have been green-lit and the project is in the works.
Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge focuses on the character Kurapika, who became a Hunter to exact his revenge on the Phantom Troupe for massacring his clan. The Kurta Clan that Kurapika belonged to was targeted because of their eyes, which turn scarlet red in times of anger or emotional agitation. The plot of Phantom Rouge involves Kurapika’s eyes being stolen; and in his quest to get them back, the true identity of the person with the number four spider tattoo is revealed.
