The Film Classification and Rating Committee in Japan (Eirin) has given the third and final Beserk film a rating of R18+ that is suitable for adults due to “extremely strong depictions of sexual activity.” Most anime films receive a rating of G (General, suitable for all ages), including Star Driver The Movie and Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part I & II; the last anime film that had a R18+ rating was Mardock Scramble: The First Compression in 2011.

Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent is scheduled to be released in Japan in early 2013.
